OttawaThe Ottawa office was opened in 1981. Today, the primary focus of the office is on federal regulatory law: in particular, competition law; intellectual property and technology law; telecommunications and broadcasting; international trade; and litigation, with a particular focus on intellectual property and public law litigation. In addition, to these core practice groups, the firm's lawyers practice in a variety of other areas such as marketing and advertising law and government procurement law, and advise clients in a wide spectrum of industries, including food and drugs, natural health products, transportation, retail and merchandising, insurance, sports and entertainment. The firm's lawyers appear regularly before administrative tribunals including the Competition Tribunal, the Copyright Board, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, as well as provincial and federal courts of all levels.
