Our rapidly growing Calgary office, with currently more than 50 legal personnel, is home to some of Alberta's leading lawyers and has one of Calgary's most active transactional practices. The Calgary office opened in 1992 and is involved in all aspects of energy law, including mergers and acquisitions and dispositions involving participants in the energy sector, reorganizations and public and private debt and equity financings. The Calgary office has a significant international dimension, advising on foreign investment in the Canadian energy sector and cross-border trade in energy resources, as well as a substantial general corporate-commercial practice, including commercial real estate, joint ventures, project financings, structured financings, tax, labour and employment and banking and securities transactions. In addition, Stikeman Elliott maintains a significant regulatory practice in Calgary, involving oil and gas and electricity related matters, as well as a  commercial litigation practice.
