What do I need to include as part of my application?
Your application package should include your cover letter, resume, a list of courses that you are currently taking or will be taking in upcoming terms and photocopies of official academic transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended. We are also happy to receive reference letters. We do not require writing samples. Please include your GPA, if applicable.

Please include an email address where you can be reached in your application as we often communicate with candidates by email. Please also include the phone number where you can be reached in Vancouver during interview week in the event that we need to reach you.

When will I hear from you once I've submitted an application?
Once we receive your application, we will send you an acknowledgement of your application by email. For summer student candidates, your law school will inform you directly about whether you will be meeting with us during OCIs (unless your law school requests that we be in touch with you directly). We will let you know on Call Day whether or not we are able to offer you an in-firm interview.

Can I contact students at the firm in advance of my interview at the firm to ask questions that I have?
We encourage you to be in touch with our current students listed on our website to hear from them about what it's like to be a student at Stikeman Elliott.

How should I go about arranging my schedule during interview week?
We suggest that you schedule your interviews in 2 hour timeslots so that you leave ample time to meet with our lawyers when you visit with us. We would like to give you lots of time to meet with our lawyers and students so that you have a real opportunity to get a sense of what it's like to be a student and lawyer at Stikeman Elliott. We hold first interviews on both Monday and Tuesday, and like to schedule follow-up interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday so that you can come back and meet with more people at the firm to learn more about us.

When are offers communicated by Stikeman Elliott?
Stikeman Elliott strictly follows the recruiting guidelines set by the Vancouver Bar Association and the Law Society of British Columbia. As such, we will not communicate that we will be making an offer to you prior to the Thursday of the relevant interview week at 8am.
