The six-month articling period required by the Québec Bar is divided into two rotations of three months each. Each articling student chooses two of the following rotations: corporate, litigation, tax or labour.
We believe that there are a number of benefits to dividing up the articling period in this way. First, this form of rotation provides the articling student with the opportunity to sample several practice groups within each section. It also helps our articling students to better identify their areas of interest, while getting to know lawyers practising in various fields. Second, since much of our work requires the cooperation of lawyers from different practice groups, our rotation system is in line with our professional activities.
