Our Hiring Policy

We are proud to offer to our articling students the opportunity to practice law with us, as a lawyer, upon successful completion of their articling period, subject to the availability of positions in the various sectors of the Firm and for an undetermined period. Our articling and associates progress in the firm in keeping with their professional development, which is reviewed periodically. Performance evaluations take place at the end of the summer for our summer students, every three months for our articling students and every six months for our junior associates.

In order to efficiently maintain our guaranteed hire-back policy, it is essential for us to get to know our articling students well. We therefore require that articling students wishing to benefit from this policy work with us for at least one summer prior to beginning their articling period, that the articling period be completed within a period of six consecutive months in the firm (barring exceptions) and, also, that any additional training (graduate studies or other professional experiences) be completed before they start their articling period so that their career begins immediately at the conclusion of their articles. Finally, in order to benefit from this hire-back guarantee, they must become a member of the Barreau du Québec.

We are perhaps the only firm in Quebec to offer such an opportunity. To us, the articling period is a learning experience, not a screening process.
