Community Citizenship

We are enthusiastic and involved community citizens

Community involvement starts at the grass roots

Living and working in Calgary is a source of great pride. Community volunteerism is a key element of life at Stikeman Elliott and a sense of social engagement is deeply ingrained in the Calgary office. In fact, more than 90% of respondents to our most recent internal corporate citizenship survey indicated that our support of not-for-profit organizations in Calgary is either “extremely important” or “very important.”

To learn more about our efforts, visit our 2019 Corporate Citizenship Report.

We are involved at both the firm level and the personal level and consistently support individuals’ participation in charities and causes that matter to them personally. Initiatives such as our popular Philanthropy Week and SEeing is Believing volunteer matching program have resulted in an incredible response from lawyers, staff and students throughout the office.

Tell us what issues and organizations are important to you and we’ll help you give back. For instance, when you donate your time to a cause or charitable organization, we will make a matching monetary contribution in recognition of your efforts.

Committed to green initiatives

Environmental sustainability is not a recent trend for us – over the years we have made real changes to the way we do business in order to reduce our environmental impact. Among many other measurable results, we have reduced our environmental footprint by 13% since 2008.
