After we receive your application

Once we receive your application, you will receive acknowledgement by email.

On-campus interviews

For summer student candidates at law schools where we participate in OCIs, your law school will inform you directly about whether you will be meeting with us during OCIs. After we meet with candidates, you will be contacted by email to let you know whether we will be calling you on Call Day.

For summer student candidates at law schools where we don’t participate in OCIs, you will be contacted by email if we would like to set up a Skype interview with you prior to Call Day.

Interview week

We generally hold first interviews for summer student positions on Monday and Tuesday. Follow-up interviews are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday so that you can come back to meet with more people at the firm and learn more about us.

We suggest that you allow for a 1½ -hour interview time slot at the firm. This will give you time to meet with a variety of lawyers and students at the firm and get a real sense of our office culture and work environment.

Communicating offers for student positions

Stikeman Elliott strictly follows the recruiting guidelines set by the Vancouver Bar Association and the Law Society of British Columbia. As such, we will not communicate that we will be making an offer to you prior to 8 a.m. on the Thursday of your interview week.
