Edward Waitzer honoured with Corporate Knights Award of Distinction

Edward WaitzerEdward (Ed) Waitzer was recognized with the Corporate Knights Award of Distinction at the 17th Annual Best Corporate Citizens in Canada Gala on June 7th, 2018 in Toronto. This award recognizes industry leaders who have made exemplary contributions to advancing the conditions between business and a sustainable economy.

Former Chair of the firm, and current Head of the Corporate Governance Group, Ed Waitzer is a highly sought after voice in the legal industry. Ed has a stellar reputation in the legal profession as a result of his frequent contributions to legal literature and publications. Ed continuously writes on topics pertaining to responsible corporate governance, and investor behaviour, in addition to numerous legal and public policy matters. Ideas surrounding the role of ethical values and sustainability in the field are often recurring in Ed’s publications. Corporate Knights recognizes Ed for his prominent role in fostering the legal foundations for responsible corporate behaviour, and allowing corporate and pension fund leaders to serve the public good. Ed was recently spotlighted in the article, “Serving the public good”, which was published by Corporate Knights.

Ed has been previously recognized for his expertise and leadership within the legal community as a professor and director of the Hennick Centre for Business and Law at York University in partnership with Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business. He holds the Jarislowsky Dimma Mooney Chair in Corporate Governance, he is an inaugural Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel, and a Senior Fellow of the C.D. Howe Institute and at the Centre for International Governance Innovation.
