Stikeman Elliott announces new national heads of the Project Development and Finance Group

Stikeman Elliott announces new leadership in the firm’s Project Development & Finance Group. Patrick Duffy, of our Toronto office, and Jamie Templeton, of our Vancouver office, will be assuming the roles as Co-Heads of the Project Development & Finance Group as of June 30, 2018, and will lead team members across all Canadian offices. The Group’s co-founder and current Head, Jim Harbell, will be retiring from the firm after almost 30 years with Stikeman Elliott. Jim will continue his relationship with the firm as a counsel/advisor on various project matters. Project development and finance of Canada’s infrastructure is a fundamental economic initiative of our country and of our firm.

Patrick DuffyPatrick Duffy’s project development practice includes environmental permitting and litigation, energy regulation, and aboriginal engagement. He has considerable experience dealing with environmental assessments and other regulatory approvals. In 2017, Patrick was awarded Lexpert’s Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 award.

Jamie TempletonJamie Templeton is practising in the areas of project finance, public private partnerships (PPP) and banking. Prior to moving to Canada, Jamie was a lawyer in Scotland and Australia and advised on PPP transactions in the UK, Europe, Australia and Canada. In 2017, Jamie co-authored the “Canada” chapter in The Public-Private Partnership Law Review. Jamie was recently recognized as a leading lawyer in Projects: PPP & Infrastructure with Chambers Global 2018.
