Stikeman Elliott Toronto supports grade 8s attending grad

June 30, 2017

Stikeman Elliott's Toronto office donated 26 boxes of dresses, suits, ties, shirts and other formal wear to Valley Park Middle School's grade 8 students, many of whom could not afford to purchase a new outfit for their graduation.

"As we approach the 150th birthday of our country I can't think of anything more Canadian than the grass roots generosity of your firm.....lending a helping hand to new Canadian families," said Kevin Battaglia, Principal at Valley Park Middle School.

"I am continually touched by the generosity of the people within the firm, and their outstanding community spirit. This initiative really resonated as it had an immediate and tangible impact to help make students' grade 8 graduation just a little more special," said Chief Operating Officer Jean McLeod. "This positive and giving nature lies at the heart of the firm and makes Stikeman Elliott such a great working community."

The enthusiastic support of this initiative was overwhelming, culminating in the donation of clothing, monetary contributions to subsidize field trips, and the development of a mentorship between a student and an associate.
