Representative Work
  • He played a leading role for a public company in its challenge before the courts of Goldcorp Inc.’s hostile take-over bid and the $3.9B sale to white knights Yamana Gold Inc. and Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited. These urgent, complex and large-scale proceedings dealt with the scope of the obligation to negotiate and act in good faith, and for the first time in Quebec, the interpretation and application of privacy and standtill commitments in the context of an hostile takeover bid.
  • He acted as lead litigation partner for Lowe’s in its highly publicized $3.2B acquisition of RONA Inc. by way of a Court-approved plan of arrangement.
  • He acted for a development capital company in major commercial litigation matters, including a substantial oppression remedy case which permitted the closing of a transaction worth more than $90M.
